Wakana Maekawa is a Lecturer in Japanese. She teaches beginning through advanced level classes. Prior to joining MIT in 2017, she taught Japanese at institutions in Japan and the US, including Harvard University and Middlebury Language Schools’ summer programs.

Maekawa has presented work on professional Japanese, assessment topics, and peer learning at pedagogical society meetings. Her pedagogical interests also include technology in language education, and the development of Content-Based Instruction in Japanese.
